I found it really hard to come up with something to write about today, I was debating hangovers, but that’s what my YouTube video (which will be uploaded later today) is focusing on, and I didn’t want to overkill it! Nor do I have too much time to focus on what to write about, as I have a TON to do today!

And that is why today’s blogpost is on motivation! Isn’t it a weird thing? Sometimes you can be so crazily motivated to do something, I was this weekend, as Orange is the New Black season 2 was released at 8am on Friday, and I triumphantly finished it at about 5:30pm on Saturday. In that time period, I dropped everything and watched 13 1/2 hours of Netflix. Also, that’s an amazing show and you should definitely watch it, it’s probably one of my favourite TV series ever, up there with Game of Thrones.

But now, on Sunday, I’ve realised how that must have been the only thing I’ve been motivated for, for a while. As in now, I have to pack for going away tomorrow, edit and upload a YouTube video, as well as writing this blogpost! And then I decided to get out of bed at 10:30am just because I could! Probably not a smart move!

Why does motivation change so much? Especially when you WANT to be motivated. The same happens with exams, thank god those are over. Exam motivation is the worst because it only seems to hit you 3 hours before the exam, in which you have to cram 6 months worth of work in. (But for reals, start revising early, it makes things MASSIVELY easier. At the end of my first semester, I had one day to revise for probably my hardest exam, which meant getting up at 5am and writing for 7 hours straight before a break. I still did well, but not as well as I did in the rest which I gave myself more than 24 hours to revise for.

This was quite a wordy post to just come to this one point: motivation is weird. Like real weird.

I didn’t know what image to include in this post, so here is one of my favourite stock images ever:

It’s called ‘Cyber Woman with corn’ and I’m sure we can all relate.

Have a great week guys, see you next time!

Only my second post, and I’m already behind schedule! Only by 1 day, but that’s still inexcusable!!!

I’ve recently finished my first year of university, and we celebrated the end of the year with an event called the ‘Law Ball’ which is for every student who studies law, or law and any combination of other subjects. This was the first time I’d been to one, with it being my first year and it was a ton of fun!

I wanted to take some nicer pictures of what I was wearing but I ended up forgetting! I bought a new suit for this (but it’s also for other things I have upcoming) and I love it! Except pretty much everyone except Josh (on the left) wore black tuxedos, and there I was in a spotty shirt with a red bow tie! But whatever, I looked great!

It was a brilliant night, filled with far, far too much free wine, which may be why this wasn’t posted yesterday and why I think I will be taking a break from alcohol for a while! Other than that, it was a great way to finish this academic year, which has been tremendous fun but also has brought a huge amount of changes to my life. It’s been pretty real!!

Next week’s blogpost will either be very early or very late, as I’m in London/Paris for a couple of days next week! There will definitely be both a post and a vlog about that in the near future!

I leave you with a picture of two of my closest friends that I’ve made this year, and I before we left for the night. I’m very thankful to have met them and I only hope that we can all remain close friends for a long time.

Hope you all have a great week, and I’ll see you next time!

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog!

This is the first post ever made on daveygranger.blogspot.com! This will hopefully not be the last one that’s ever posted! (Nah but for reals, it really won’t be, I love typing up piles of rubbish for people to read or not read.)

I thought to myself that first posts are generally rubbish, like your first attempt at math problems or the first time you ride a bike, or other first times, which will not be specified here! Thus, my original plan was to take some rubbish pictures on my camera, and write a little about how I love to waste time in summer, by staying inside whilst it’s nice outside. But then the idea hit me:

make a first post about first posts.

And here we are. It took me months, maybe even a year to finally make a YouTube channel after realising not only that YouTube was what I wanted to do, but also to realise that not everyone wants that dream and also accepts it as unattainable. I was that dumb.

The point of this babble is that first posts have such big pressure on them to be amazing. I scrapped this when I finally uploaded my first YouTube video, which was a welcome to my channel video, filmed using the webcam of my slowly dying Dell Inspiron, with a tiny IKEA light as the only light source. That video has (thankfully!) since been set as private, so that only I can see it, and hopefully remember it. Unless the 25 people to have watched it before it disappeared still do, and I pray that they don’t.

So yes, here is a first post that may be rubbish, but that’s okay because it’s kick-started me into doing this thing and hopefully, sticking with it every Tuesday. Even though that plan is probably going to be destroyed as two weeks today, I will not be in the country and probably unable to post!

But who cares.

This was fun. But as this was a last minute brainwave, I have no pictures to include. So here’s a picture I’ve just taken, using my phone because I’m too lazy to reach for my camera which is on the other side of the room:

Right now you’re looking at this post almost finished, as well as Lorde performing at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, which I’m catching up on whilst I type away!

Have a great week,

David
