London

Hello everybody!

I spent a couple days in London, to see a close friend of mine and also to go to Summer in the City, a YouTube convention!

Rather than post about my time at Summer in the City, which I filmed and am putting up on my YouTube channel, I thought I’d make a short post on the things I did yesterday in London.

Yesterday morning,  we had a bit of a lie in, after Summer in the City completely destroyed us, if you’ve ever been to a convention of any kind, you’ll understand that it’s generally a weekend of no sleep, barely any food, and being on your feet for a ridiculous amount of time. It always takes a couple days to recover afterwards, but we didn’t have that luxury! Sleeping in was good enough though.

We started the day with coco pops (a staple of staying in London with Fae), and with Bleach. Bleach is a manga series that started in 2001, which was then adapted into an anime series in 2004. We felt very nostalgic about the time we used to love Bleach, which was an amazing series for a while, the manga is still going and isn’t as great as it once was, but I still love and follow it. After this we headed to Covent Garden!

Another staple of hanging out with Fae is macarons.

We went to Laderee, and it was amazing. I love macarons, they look so great and taste AMAZING. They’re a little on the pricey side but they’re worth it. I truly appreciate this after the time I attempted to make some and ended up making a weird blue goop instead.

Recent Clothing Buys!

I have to pack because I’m going to Summer in the City (The UK’s biggest YouTube convention) this weekend! Looking at my clothes inspired me to write this post. I was also inspired by my clothes being stored in weird and wonderful ways around the house whilst I had no wardrobe to put them in.

I realised I have bought quite a lot of clothes lately, I tend to buy…barely any and wear the same things for years. The shorts I’m wearing right now have seen a few too many summers, and are too gross to wear outside the threshold of my safe place (my home.) So here’s a look at some of the things I’ve bought lately:

(Also can you tell I’m desperately trying to utilise the skills I gained from working in a store for a year that sold some bad clothes?!)

Troye Sivan and Begin Again

This post would have been up yesterday, had I not been on (another) Breaking Bad marathon, I finally get all of the hype around that show now, and it also makes me never, ever, ever want to touch drugs.

This is another post about music. I’ve never considered myself as having a big interest in music but this is my second post on music this month. I still don’t think I can say I have a big interest in music though, when the Pitch Perfect soundtrack is one of my most listened to albums.

Last Wednesday I went to go see a film called Begin Again, here’s a summary lifted from IMDB: ‘A chance encounter between a disgraced music-business executive and a young singer-songwriter new to Manhattan turns into a promising collaboration between the two talents.’

I was surprised by how amazing it was, I expected it to either be great or terrible, and I’m so glad it ended up being fantastic for such a low budget, low action plot. I never expected to enjoy it as much as I did.

Big yet little worries

Hi everybody!

Today I feel like I’m channeling SprinkleofGlitter today, because I’m doing a ‘meaningful’ (for lack of a better word) post today, about feelings and stuff like that rather than what Lush product I dip my body in on a daily basis.

This week has been quite busy which has been fun, but my anxiety levels have been higher than usual, which has ruined my sleeping pattern, all because I’m worrying about things that really don’t need to be worried about, or at least, worried about yet.

Remember this analogy for later, I’m going to explain it in the end: this week I accidentally had sour milk on my cereal, which tasted gross, caused me to throw away cereal which once was perfectly good, and made me feel ill for a few hours. I tried to have cereal this morning and I couldn’t tell if the milk was sour or not, even though I’m pretty much 100% it wasn’t, but it’s still in my head that all milk in the house must be sour.

A worry that I let slip through the metaphorical cracks this week has been ‘What the hell am I going to do with my life if all doesn’t go to plan?!’ Which, I really don’t have an answer for yet, I still have a while to decide that one, but it’s played on my mind a little. What if blogging and YouTube never work out for me, and I can’t work somewhere creative- will I have to remove my entire online presence, something that’s become a huge part of my life, and work in a job I hate, day in day out?

The answer to that is simply ‘no’. Instead of that, I can just ensure that I work somewhere in which creativity is encouraged. Rather than worrying about something that isn’t going to happen, I should focus on where I’m going to get to in the next few years. I work hard on my videos and blog, even if it doesn’t look that way, I really do try and spend a good few hours a week working on them, and I can only look forward to a time when working on them will fill my entire week, every week. I hate quotes generally, especially those ones that everyone knows because they tend to be ripped out of context and used to justify things that really shouldn’t be justified by a line said by an uncredited someone, hundreds, maybe thousands of years ago, but I’m going to use a quote (which origins I have no clue about) here: ‘When there’s a will there’s a way’.

I’m sure I’m going to get to the place I want with my career because I’m going to make sure I will.

Back to that milk analogy: I let a small fear get into my head, and it’s ruined breakfast (the BEST meal of the day, if you think otherwise, I will fight you) for a couple of days. Just like how I let in the fear of ending up, what present me would consider, not necessarily a failure, but what present me doesn’t want to be. And I’ve let that disrupt my thinking process for a few days.

Writing it all out here has really helped, and I hope that this helps at least one person out there reading this!

My current products!

Hello everybody!

I didn’t know what to call this, my favourite skin products? But a lot of this isn’t for skin. Favourite beauty products? But it’s not all beauty things? So I’ve just gone for products. Very creative.

Today I thought I’d show you the products that take part in my everyday routine. Or most day routines. I use most of these products everyday but not all of them. This is getting ramble-y so I’ll just start.

This post would have been up days ago, but the weather wasn’t great, so I had no natural lighting. Then the weather was great, but I wasn’t home. But today is the hottest day of the year, so it was VERY sunny, as well as sweaty and tiring. The heat makes me want to lie down forever. I also discovered that I have nowhere nice, with access to natural lighting, to take photos. So this post could have been up days ago. Oops.

All of the featured products in their glory! (Atop the radiator cover in the hall. It’s a very professional operation that we run here.)
