Miranda Sings

Hi everybody!!

Last night I went to go see the Queen of the Internet, and maybe even the world, Miranda Sings! If you don’t know who that is, I think you could really do with knowing her. She is amazing. Just so you are aware, she IS a character portrayed by Colleen Ballinger! Here are a few of my favourite videos featuring her:

Bonfire Night

Bonfire night is one of my favourite nights of the year! It’s a very British evening, and that makes it all the better! If you don’t know what Bonfire night is, and were confused by Snapchat showing it off to all of it’s users, here’s a short explanation, with some help from Wikipedia.

On November 5th 1605, Guy Fawkes attempted to blow up Parliament using gunpowder. This spectacularly failed, and for some reason, we now celebrate the evening of November 5th with huge fireworks displays, because it’s…you know gunpowder inside, and by making bonfires! I’ve heard of people burning scarecrow type figures to represent Guy Fawkes but I’ve never actually seen that happen. I’m kinda glad actually, it sounds creepy.

As you know, I no longer live at home, full time anyway, and so this was the first Bonfire night in recent memory that I didn’t spend at my hometown’s firework display, which I have to say, is pretty awesome. The rest of the town may not be brilliant, but it’s so great on Bonfire night.

My flatmates and I went to Sefton park in Liverpool, known for being one of the biggest displays in Liverpool! But I have to say, the displays were kinda disappointing. We kept moving from spot to spot to find a good spot, we ended up in some bad places in which pictures turned out like this:

Amity Fest Liverpool

Hello everyone!

I’m gonna get back on point with my blogging game. I’ve had a bit of a lull but that’s over and now it’s gonna be great again.

So yesterday was Amity Fest in Liverpool, if you don’t know what that is, it’s a show put on at 3 venues across the UK (the other’s being Birmingham and Brighton) by 9 of the biggest British YouTubers, Zoella, Tanya Burr, Jim Chapman, Sprinkle of Glitter, PointlessBlog, Marcus Butler, Niomi Smart, Caspar Lee and ThatcherJoe, who sadly couldn’t make it due to be ill.

Zoella

I was originally going to name this ‘In defence of Zoella’ before I realised, Zoella does not need my defence, she has the world supporting her, despite a certain article, which this is being written in response to.

For those of you who don’t know, you probably do, I imagine most of you reading this blog are at least moderately familiar with YouTube, Zoe Sugg, AKA Zoella is a youtuber, with over 6 million subscribers on her main channel, and a further 2 million on her second/vlog channel. She started off with a blog, and in the recent months, her life has blown up, with a 2 book deal, the first of which, ‘Girl Online’, is dropping next month, a beauty line exclusively sold in Superdrug (I can vouch for the quality of the shower gel), as well as an ad campaign featured not only on YouTube, but on television as well as transport in London.

Yesterday, an article, which I will not be linking to, was published, and I have a lot of feelings about it’s content. I wanted to write them somewhere in a, at least slightly, constructive manner. I guess I should clarify this first of all, I am a viewer of Zoe, and have been for sometime. Her videos often become part of my daily routine and something to look forward to in the week. I don’t consider myself a fan of Zoe, simply because I don’t really like to call myself a fan of YouTubers, especially as I make my own videos, I just find it…strange to label myself that way. I understand why people do, but I more so consider myself a viewer of the content these people put out.

I’ve REALLY dropped the metaphorical blogging ball and I am very sorry, things are a bit hectic and there’s no sign of slowing down anytime soon, no matter how much I wish they would!

So, I’m sorry for this rushed, rather easy-to-do blogpost, which I am doing in between spoonfuls of Weetabix and adverts of The Walking Dead as part of my Monday night routine.
