Staycation #2

Welcome to day 2 of my staycation! If you missed day 1, you can read that here.

Saturday began with a bit of a lie in. Always amazing.

The weather in Liverpool had been quite crappy, for lack of a better word. Very rainy, cold, a lot of snow and hail. But as of this weekend, it has improved massively! Blue skies, sunny, and just cold enough so that you’re not annoyed about the weather.

Although it then became insanely windy.

Still sunny and dry though, so I can’t complain!

The day started with a selfie taken with my selfie stick. People judge selfie sticks but they are SO MUCH FUN.

Staycation #1

Hello everyone!

We have a few days of more interesting blogposts here on!!

This past weekend, my friend Amy and I, had a staycation in Liverpool. A staycation is essentially a vacation in your local area! For us, that is Liverpool! It’s amazing how many of the touristy places that you miss in your own hometown. When you sit down and think about it, you’ve probably not done too many of them.

I’m not entirely sure how many blogposts this series is going to take, I’ve scheduled it for 3 posts, up until Wednesday, but we’ll see as I write!

On Friday evening, we ate at Bakchich with my roommates. Bakchich is a restaurant that serves Lebanese street food, and it’s located on Bold Street, which is one of my favourite places in Liverpool.

Today I want to talk about something that I have a major case of at the minute: wanderlust!

Google defines wanderlust as ‘a strong desire to travel’. I bet most people have a lot of wanderlust, I mean, how can you not want to see the world?!

I can blame my wanderlust on Indiana Jones partly, and last week this video from FunForLouis really, really gave me such a desire to abandon everything and go and explore the world.

This video is really worth watching.

Hello everybody!

I spent a couple days in London, to see a close friend of mine and also to go to Summer in the City, a YouTube convention!

Rather than post about my time at Summer in the City, which I filmed and am putting up on my YouTube channel, I thought I’d make a short post on the things I did yesterday in London.

Yesterday morning,  we had a bit of a lie in, after Summer in the City completely destroyed us, if you’ve ever been to a convention of any kind, you’ll understand that it’s generally a weekend of no sleep, barely any food, and being on your feet for a ridiculous amount of time. It always takes a couple days to recover afterwards, but we didn’t have that luxury! Sleeping in was good enough though.

We started the day with coco pops (a staple of staying in London with Fae), and with Bleach. Bleach is a manga series that started in 2001, which was then adapted into an anime series in 2004. We felt very nostalgic about the time we used to love Bleach, which was an amazing series for a while, the manga is still going and isn’t as great as it once was, but I still love and follow it. After this we headed to Covent Garden!

Another staple of hanging out with Fae is macarons.

We went to Laderee, and it was amazing. I love macarons, they look so great and taste AMAZING. They’re a little on the pricey side but they’re worth it. I truly appreciate this after the time I attempted to make some and ended up making a weird blue goop instead.

I was lucky enough to spend Tuesday and Wednesday of last week in Paris, France! Whilst we were there, the weather varied from torrential rain to extreme sunlight! It was crazy, and I had not packed sufficiently for either weather (despite my case being extremely heavy!).

Rather than ramble a lot, I’m going to make the post mainly pictures, if you want to hear more/see more of my trip, I uploaded a vlog to my YouTube channel yesterday (it’s quite long, prepare yourself for that!):

WOW It is hell trying to change the order of pictures on blogger. Let’s deal with these the way they are, I moved most of them into the right order but I also can’t be bothered moving the bagel pictures towards the bottom!!

Being so pretty on the mid level of the Eiffel Tower (I LOVE the jumper I have on, I’d wear it all day every day if it wouldn’t get smelly)

This was a little place called Bagelstein which was convientiently located between our hotel and Bonne Neuville (I think that is how you spell it) station. I had this amazing bagel for breakfast which consisted of cheese, roasted vegetables, pesto and MORE cheese, this time in cream form. It was truly amazing. Also it was brilliant to get some vegetables since for the past two days my diet consisted of mostly maoams and macarons.

Fae, who I went with, a long with a few other of her friends, took a lot of selfies. This is my favourite, which was taken whilst we sat outside of Bagelstein having our food!

The Pokemon Center was pretty cool, the merchandise sold was pretty underwhelming, but it’s still cool to see this many Pikachu!

It also had a wall with every single Pokemon currently revealed on it!! I took pictures of some of my favourites but this is as close to a picture of the full wall as I could get due to how huge it was!

The Pokemon Center also had an art gallery, which was the best part of it, it was really great. A lot of it was very simplistic but was executed extremely well.

McDonalds in France have a counter selling ‘McCafe’ products, my favourite was obviously the macarons! ‘Real’ macarons were better, but these were a nice snack, we went back for more of the vanilla flavoured ones!

The Metro signs are really awesome. They seem very Halloween-y for some reason.

Selfie game forever strong even if this is a horrible selfie.

We could see the Arc d’triomphe really well from the middle level of the Eiffel Tower!

The view was pretty breathtaking from all angles, but this was my favourite with all the tall buildings in the distance.

By the time we left, the Eiffel Tower was illuminated and looked great. I also had a great panini between the time of the last two photos. I want that panini right now.

The next day we visited an Evangelion exhibit among other things, I filmed more of that in my vlog if you’re interested!

Overall, Paris is just an amazingly beautiful city and I want to go back right now!!!

I hope you’re all well and I’ll see you next week!
