Welcome to #INTERVIEWED, a series of chats with creators of all kinds.

Today we’re joined by my friend Charlie of ModishMale, known for his style and for disliking corn on the cob but liking sweetcorn. That’s weird right? Let him know that.

D: What do you do online?

C: In general? Or blog related?

D:Blog related, I don’t wanna know about your dirty online habits.

C: I have a men’s lifestyle blog called Modish Male, which covers a wide variety of topics from fashion and grooming to theatre and food and everything in between! So something for everyone!

D:What about the man behind the blog?

C: I’m 25 and live in the seaside town of Brighton which I’m sure you’ve heard of! My 9-5 is very different to the blogging world!! No glamorous photo shoots or expensive hotels, it’s all reports, deadlines and meetings! So blogging is my escape!

D: Is that why you started blogging? For an escape?

C: I’ve always been very creative and as my job doesn’t involve much creativity, my blog is a great outlet for this.

D: What was the inspiration that made you have that ‘I’m starting a blog’ moment?

C: I’ve always been the type of person who posts reviews on websites of products I’ve tried, and for years I’ve had numerous blogs covering film and theatre so I thought a lifestyle blog would be a great idea. The Everyday Man blog by John was also inspo to start my own blog! I still read and love his content to this day!

D: That leads perfectly into my next question, which influencers have the biggest impact upon you, your creative process and your blog?

C: I have massive respect for all bloggers and love to support others so I get creativity from everyone and everything.

D: What do you think is the hardest part of blogging?

C: For me it’s finding the time to actually blog . . . I can’t seem to find the right balance which is a shame as I love blogging but I’m sure it will happen, it’s just going to take time

D: Definitely, you’ve recently changed jobs too right?

C: Yep! My new job is a lot more demanding and I have no spare time to even tweet! If you look at my Twitter usage a few months ago I was on it all day as I could get away with it! Nowadays I’m restricted!

D: Do you have a favourite part of the blogging process?

C: YES! pressing the publish button on a blog post! I have a love hate relationship with taking photos but really enjoy it…when it goes right! Also the interaction with people after I’ve posted I love

D: That’s always rewarding!

Do you have a favourite post or moment of blogging?

C: I don’t actually! I’m still waiting for that post which makes me want to show the world!

In regards to favourite moments of blogging I would say it’s been meeting new people! I’ve never had the biggest group of friends (my own choice, don’t feel sorry for me), so it’s nice to have turned virtual friends into actual friends!

D: Do you have any big plans for ModishMale that we should keep an eye out for?

C: I have no BIG plans! Just to continue to build my audience and write about the stuff I love! In the future my blog will have a new interior/home section which I’m excited for!

The prospect of a YouTube channel has been playing around in my mind! So watch this space.

D: I’m excited for whatever you do next!

What’s your Hogwarts house?

C: Hufflepuff which I’m fuming about!

D: Hufflepuffs are kind!

Do you have a favourite film of all time?

C: I couldn’t possibly narrow it down! I love to many genres to do that! I love disaster films! One of my favourite actually being Titanic. I love the whole story and the era! Also Gone Girl, Nocturnal Animals! Keeping Mum! Goodnight Mr Tom! I could go on! Films are my life!

D: Favourite artist/band/whatever?

C: Again I like so many different genres of music! Mumford & Sons, Bears Den, Adele, Maverick Sabre, Rag n Bone Man, Sampha and that’s only a few!

Big up Charlie for joining us today and letting me grill him with questions whilst he’s trying to have a relaxing evening. Make sure to check his blog out, and follow him on Twitter and Instagram.
