200 posts now live on daveygranger.co.uk.

I’ve never had a hobby that I’ve committed to quite like this, I go in phases of running, play piano once in a blue moon and sew when required, but I blog always. I work on this site almost every single day, often only having a day or two a week away from it and I truly miss it on those days.

This blog has helped me find my passion in life, how cringe does that sound, but it’s true. I realised I love to write, I love online media, I love photography and I love to interact with others on social media. I have made so many friends in the blogging community, and I am so thankful to know every single one, you all inspire me to challenge myself with the content I create, and ALWAYS provide great ideas of where to travel to next.

My 100% honest, nothing ‘held back’ goal would be to write full time. Maybe on this blog, but  for other places too. I love this blog, it’s gave me the confidence to reach out to companies for opportunities, I surely wouldn’t be living in London doing what I do without my blog, without the countless hours I’ve put into it, without the late nights finishing posts, the lunch hours spent typing, the evenings spent deleting rubbish photos, and the endless stream of notes on my phone, post-its in my room, containing ideas that are often nonsense. My all time favourite was a note I found in my bed that said ‘Tinder for dog?’.

I still don’t know what that was supposed to mean.

Thank you to each and every person who has ever clicked onto my blog, I love to click into my stats and see that people around the world are looking at my pictures, reading my words! It’s very strange and surreal.

Back in 2014 I started this as a hobby to go alongside my YouTube channel. Now my blog is by far my main priority. It gives me ambition, confidence, satisifaction and helps scratch that endless need to create I’ve had for as long as I can remember, I just never knew where to focus that energy. Now this blog is actually something I do semi-professionally, it comes nowhere close to paying the bills, but it actually pays something. It’s a very strange feeling to earn money from something you’d be doing anyway. The money is great, but it means so much more that brands and companies see what I do as worth it.

I recently trawled back through every single post on this blog fixing some problems I’ve had since changing the theme in December, it was eye opening seeing how far I’ve come in terms of post-quality, focus, consistency and I write in less terrible jokes nowadays, they’re not gone, they’re just a little less frequent. Hopefully the content is a bit more consistent these days too!

I read back over my stresses and worries during university, how I had no idea what I wanted to be doing, how I wanted to live in London but wasn’t sure how to make it happen, how it was a pipe dream to be working in London in social media when I study law, and don’t have the all important ‘edge’ you need to get into any job, let alone one in such a competitive field in one of the world’s toughest job markets. But here we are in 2017 and that’s come to fruition! I appreciate being in London everyday, thanks to this blog I can always look back and see just how much I wanted this, and how hard I worked to make this happen, it’s like a digital diary of the last 3 years of my life!

I’ve never been busier thanks to this blog, thanks to working full-time, thanks to living in such an amazing city, and I’ve never been happier.

Here’s to another 200 posts!
