Troye Sivan and Begin Again

This post would have been up yesterday, had I not been on (another) Breaking Bad marathon, I finally get all of the hype around that show now, and it also makes me never, ever, ever want to touch drugs.

This is another post about music. I've never considered myself as having a big interest in music but this is my second post on music this month. I still don't think I can say I have a big interest in music though, when the Pitch Perfect soundtrack is one of my most listened to albums.

Last Wednesday I went to go see a film called Begin Again, here's a summary lifted from IMDB: 'A chance encounter between a disgraced music-business executive and a young singer-songwriter new to Manhattan turns into a promising collaboration between the two talents.'

Big yet little worries

Hi everybody!

Today I feel like I'm channeling SprinkleofGlitter today, because I'm doing a 'meaningful' (for lack of a better word) post today, about feelings and stuff like that rather than what Lush product I dip my body in on a daily basis.

This week has been quite busy which has been fun, but my anxiety levels have been higher than usual, which has ruined my sleeping pattern, all because I'm worrying about things that really don't need to be worried about, or at least, worried about yet.

Remember this analogy for later, I'm going to explain it in the end: this week I accidentally had sour milk on my cereal, which tasted gross, caused me to throw away cereal which once was perfectly good, and made me feel ill for a few hours. I tried to have cereal this morning and I couldn't tell if the milk was sour or not, even though I'm pretty much 100% it wasn't, but it's still in my head that all milk in the house must be sour.

A worry that I let slip through the metaphorical cracks this week has been 'What the hell am I going to do with my life if all doesn't go to plan?!' Which, I really don't have an answer for yet, I still have a while to decide that one, but it's played on my mind a little. What if blogging and YouTube never work out for me, and I can't work somewhere creative- will I have to remove my entire online presence, something that's become a huge part of my life, and work in a job I hate, day in day out?

The answer to that is simply 'no'. Instead of that, I can just ensure that I work somewhere in which creativity is encouraged. Rather than worrying about something that isn't going to happen, I should focus on where I'm going to get to in the next few years. I work hard on my videos and blog, even if it doesn't look that way, I really do try and spend a good few hours a week working on them, and I can only look forward to a time when working on them will fill my entire week, every week. I hate quotes generally, especially those ones that everyone knows because they tend to be ripped out of context and used to justify things that really shouldn't be justified by a line said by an uncredited someone, hundreds, maybe thousands of years ago, but I'm going to use a quote (which origins I have no clue about) here: 'When there's a will there's a way'.

I'm sure I'm going to get to the place I want with my career because I'm going to make sure I will.

Back to that milk analogy: I let a small fear get into my head, and it's ruined breakfast (the BEST meal of the day, if you think otherwise, I will fight you) for a couple of days. Just like how I let in the fear of ending up, what present me would consider, not necessarily a failure, but what present me doesn't want to be. And I've let that disrupt my thinking process for a few days.

Writing it all out here has really helped, and I hope that this helps at least one person out there reading this!

My current products!

Hello everybody!

I didn't know what to call this, my favourite skin products? But a lot of this isn't for skin. Favourite beauty products? But it's not all beauty things? So I've just gone for products. Very creative.

Today I thought I'd show you the products that take part in my everyday routine. Or most day routines. I use most of these products everyday but not all of them. This is getting ramble-y so I'll just start.

This post would have been up days ago, but the weather wasn't great, so I had no natural lighting. Then the weather was great, but I wasn't home. But today is the hottest day of the year, so it was VERY sunny, as well as sweaty and tiring. The heat makes me want to lie down forever. I also discovered that I have nowhere nice, with access to natural lighting, to take photos. So this post could have been up days ago. Oops.

All of the featured products in their glory! (Atop the radiator cover in the hall. It's a very professional operation that we run here.)

Favourite songs

Today's post was going to be about K-ON! ,a series I love, it was then going to be a desk/working area tour, but my desk is sort of a mess at the minute and needs a good clean, so now it's evolved into this!

The other day I was with my friends Amy and Alix (soon to be of Ace and Red blog fame) when we decided to list our 5 all time favourite songs. This wasn't easy and I'm not 100% all of these songs should really have made the cut or if more should have, I have no clue, but here are the 5 I listed (in no particular order):

Paramore- Still Into You
(Fun fact- this album came out on the day I passed my driving test!)

Maroon 5- Lucky Strike
(Fun fact- I listened to this album on repeat whilst I worked in an office in which everyone was a lot older than me, and my desk moved about constantly so I ended up either sat alone or next to people who I didn't know, so my only friends were Maroon 5.)

Lorde- Tennis Court
(Fun fact- I didn't like this album at first and now I listen to it all the time. Pretty much in the day. Mostly in the shower. Is that weird?)

Haim- Don't Save Me
(Fun fact- I don't have one for this album, but I first discovered Haim through my sister, I then bought all of the songs they had out, which was about 5, it was before the album, from Amazon. They were the first songs I'd bought from Amazon MP3.)

Florence and the Machine- Cosmic Love
(Fun fact- I thought this song was okay, then I watched the video below, and I fell in love with it.)
Also why are all the fun facts in brackets? We'll never know. Are they even fun, or remotely interesting? Please leave all positive feedback in the comments below and keep everything negative to yourself. (Not really)

Warning: SPOILERS FOR PUELLA MAGI MADOKA MAGICA and it's a fantastic series, probably my favourite anime of all time, so I don't want it ruined for anybody!

I hope you enjoyed this and that you didn't hate each and every song. I love them all and think they're great, and I hope I've introduced at least one person to something new!

Thanks! See you next time!

Cheap activities to do over summer!!!

Hello Sprinklerinos!

I know that isn't my intro, but it felt appropriate. I don't know why.

I've been off for summer break for a month now, sadly with no luck in the job department, so I'm trying to keep busy for as cheap as possible! With nothing coming in at the minute, I need to save as much money as I can!

This week I managed to fill 2 days, in which I spent just under £15 in total. That doesn't seem as cheap as I thought it was going to be before I added it up, oops, although all but £4 of that was spent on food! If I didn't love eating so much, it could have been so much cheaper!

The first activity is: Throwing your own garden festival!

I did this with 3 friends on Sunday, the day cost £5 which was spent on food! Mainly sausage rolls and ice pops. A worthy investment if you ask me. Otherwise we made do with what we had! We put a tent up, sat outside of it in the sun, dressed as 'festival-y' as we could, spending a ton of the day learning new card games. And it was really fun, it was something different to what we usually do, which means I'll remember it much more vividly!

I really should have taken more pictures but I was having too much fun and forgot, so here is a picture of Georgia and I. I wish I looked better on this.
